Tom Kelly, Chairman of Perfect Image, has been awarded an OBE for services to the information and communications technology sector.
In 2011, Tom Kelly became Chairman of the Welsh Government’s Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) Sector Panel. The ICT Sector Panel was established to provide advice and support to the Welsh Government to grow the industry in Wales, create more jobs, and drive economic benefits.
Tom says of his OBE, “I am delighted to have been awarded an OBE by HM Queen in recognition of the excellent work that the ICT Sector Panel achieved during its lifetime from 2011 through to 2017. The honour is very much an acknowledgement of the time and dedication of each and every member of the Panel. We all contributed and worked together to bring a focus to the growth of the ICT Sector in Wales. This award is for all of us – the private sector, the public sector and the Welsh Government.”
Tom graduated from Trinity College Dublin with degrees in Mathematics and Engineering and is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors (IoD). He is widely respected within the IT industry and during his 35+ year career, he has supported the transition of founder-owned businesses to new, professional management under private equity ownership. Previously, Tom was CEO of Logicalis which he grew organically and via acquisition over 10 years.
Earlier this year, Tom took his place on the Perfect Image board of directors as Chairman. He assists Perfect Image’s key stakeholders with his wealth of experience and provides guidance around strategy to advance business growth.
Rob Hankin, Chief Executive Officer of Perfect Image, says, “Tom brings a vast amount of experience to us as new business owners. He has supported us greatly before our MBO transaction and since. Not only does he help us focus on building business value and delivery excellence through the right amount of challenge, he also encourages us to see the successes in what we are achieving.”
